About The Owners
As co-founders of the Cape Crusaders Homewatch Services, we believe in running our business with honesty and integrity. We saw the need for our neighbors to feel comfortable leaving their homes for a period of time and hoping there would not be any significant issues while away. We understand the importance of looking after and maintaining unoccupied or vacant properties. We also understand and respect the level of trust extended to our company when you choose to utilize our home watch services in the Cape Coral area. It’s a privilege that comes with great responsibility.

Who We Are
Karla & Joe Romer –
(Co-Founders)
Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, we moved to Cape Coral in 2023 after we both retired from our Corporate roles. I was a Director – Consumer Analytics and Insights for Procter & Gamble for 37 years my husband was Vice President at Acosta Foods. We have been coming to the Cape for 12 years prior to making it our permanent residence. We love to boat, golf and spend as much time as we can with our grandchildren who live in Columbus, Ohio. We’ve talked with so many friends and neighbors about their frustrations with leaving their homes and relying on their neighbors to try to watch out for their homes only to be disappointed.
Suzette & Mike DeGrande -
(Co-Founders)
In 2019 we became official homeowners in Cape Coral. Mike retired from owning a Mortgage business for 25 years and Suzette retired from teaching middle school math. Both of us are currently active real estate agents with Premiere Plus Realty. We have seen so many of our clients who are seasonal homeowners struggle with issues arising at their Cape home while they are out of state. We want to help our neighbors and provide peace of mind while away from their homes.
We believe in the highest quality of industry standards, that is why we are an Accredited Member of the National Home Watch Association (NHWA). Accredited Members have been vetted for proper insurance, consumer complaints, and truthful website content, as well as their agreement to follow the Mission Statement and Code of Ethics of the NHWA. These businesses have separated themselves from the pack by committing to a very high set of standards. These standards assure clients that the people in their homes are truly looking out for their best interests at all times.
